The way people use their phones today can be very annoying for those over 60. They find that people are too busy looking down on their phones and then bump into others or people have loud conversations in public and are very inconsiderate, leaving them feeling frustrated.

Noisy Environments

Sound Away reports, “In our modern world, noise pollution has become an increasingly common issue. From bustling city streets to busy workplaces, excessive noise levels can have a significant impact on our health and well-being.” Noisy environments can easily irritate people in their 60s. This can be due to their hearing being more sensitive than it was when they were younger.

Poor Customer Service

Poor customer service can annoy us all. Over-60s particularly get annoyed with long wait times, speaking to automated systems, or dealing with rude staff who talk down to them. They value being respected as customers, and when this isn’t shown, they can get frustrated quickly.

Traffic

People in their 60s value their time, and one thing that frustrates them is sitting in traffic. They feel that they could be using their time much more wisely than sitting and waiting. This means many older people plan trips to make sure they avoid driving during rush hour.

Technology

Technology can be very frustrating for older generations. They tend to understand the benefits involved but get frustrated with the constant changes. For people over 60, it feels as though once they’ve learned to use a new device, another new gadget comes out, and they struggle to keep up.

Aches and pains can be hugely annoying after turning 60. Even though they’re common, UCI Health recommends that any new pains or lingering symptoms be checked out. They can leave people feeling frustrated, as it becomes hard to do simple things without feeling discomfort.

Forgetfulness

As you age, you can become more forgetful. You might forget where you put something or struggle to recall someone’s name. This can be highly frustrating and negatively impact a person’s mental health. It’s important to keep the brain mentally stimulated to help with forgetfulness.

Unreliable Weather Forecasts

Older people always check the weather forecast before doing anything. They can easily get annoyed if the weather turns out to be different from what was forecast. They make their plans based on the forecast, and if it’s different, they’ll likely miss out on their plans.

Rising Costs of Living

The cost of living is serious for seniors. For example, the University of Illinois Urbana-Campaign reports, “With consumer prices rising at the fastest pace in almost four decades, older adults face the risk of having their retirement income and savings eaten away by inflation.” Money can often be tight, with little left once all the bills are paid.

Lack of Respect for Elders

When people reach their 60s, they begin to realize that younger generations don’t always have respect for their elders. This can be highly frustrating, as this was a value they were taught from a young age. Over 60s have followed this throughout their lives but are now disrespected when they get old.

Medications

Being on medication can be annoying for people in their 60s. It may be something they’re not used to, and it takes some time for them to get their heads around. They can find managing their medication frustrating, as they have to make sure they take the correct dosage at the correct time every day.

Unnecessary Packaging

Many things we purchase online today get delivered with excessive packaging. Often, they can be hard to get into and are used with excessive plastic. This can be highly annoying for people in their 60s and older, as they see it as wasteful and unnecessary.

Inaccessible Public Spaces

Some public places can be poorly designed without thought or consideration for older generations. People in their 60s can get irritated by the lack of ramps or elevators available. This often means they have to struggle or miss out on going somewhere altogether, as it’s not accessible.

Socializing in your older years can be difficult and something many older people miss. They can become frustrated with being isolated when friends have passed away or moved to a different area. It can be difficult for them to make new friends, but they should try to make the most of community events to meet new people.

As you get older, your physical fitness begins to decline. This can leave people in their 60s extremely annoyed, especially if they’re active people. They can struggle to deal with slower bodies that don’t allow them to do the things they used to enjoy and do frequently.
