It’s a fair argument to say that there aren’t enough kind people in the world. Surrounding ourselves with kind people can bring us a number of benefits. Here are 17 signs you’re dealing with a genuinely kind person.

When you do a favor and expect to be returned, then you are doing business, not kindness. A clear sign you may be interacting with a kind person is if they offer help without being asked. These kinds of people help because they genuinely want to support people.

They Keep Their Promises

Kind people will always stick to the promises they make. You will never see a genuinely kind person go back on a promise, so if they have given you their word, you don’t have to worry that they won’t follow through. According to Psychology Today, this is because breaking a promise shows that you don’t value a person.

They Practice Consistency in Kindness

Genuinely kind people are always kind; it’s not something they switch on and off. They will be consistent in being kind to anyone they interact with, not just friends and family, as it’s a value they stick to. They will treat everyone with respect and compassion, regardless of the circumstances.
